Flux is a different kind of AI model. It doesn't use negative prompts or prompt weighting. The guidance scale is locked at 1. And it runs with fewer steps.
Flux does wonders rendering text. It can create art in a variety of styles. Most importantly, Flux can render more imaginative concepts that other models struggle with.
Flux works well with natural language prompts. That means you can describe your desired artwork as if you were talking to a human, rather than using keywords and short phrases separated by commas. If you have a favorite prompt-builder chat app, give it a whirl with Flux.

¶ Flux Techniques
Since Flux is not like other models we offer at MonAI, I'm going to discuss some techniques which are unique to Flux.
¶ Text
Flux renders text with nearly perfect accuracy. You can even specify font or style, color, and effects with some accuracy. Here are a few examples:

| The text you want to see should appear in quotation marks. ‘Single quotes’ and “double quotes” seem to work equally well. If you see a typo, you may want to try the render again with a different seed, and if that doesn't work, try a less complicated request. There are several great examples of text being incorporated into artwork in the Flux Examples area below. |

¶ Depth Layering
Flux allows for greater control over the layers of depth in an image. Here's an example prompt with a foreground, middle, and background:

¶ Artists and Art Movements
It is not as easy to capture an artistic style with Flux as it is with SDXL. Here are a few techniques and their results.

The seed and other parameters are the same in these renders. The only difference is the highlighted text. Without an artist reference, Flux will usually default to a photorealistic style, as shown in image (1). To say “In the style of Claude Monet” or simply “Claude Monet” has virtually no effect (2). “Impressionist Style” creates visible brushstrokes (3). Some recommend the technique shown in image (4), where an an artist's name and/or an artistic movement is referenced along with a description of what is desired from that reference. You can also reference a particular painting by name in the same manner. However, referencing the “Impressionist Style” art movement had a much stronger affect with less effort.
